State Budget

The South Australian State Government Budget is important for the community services sector and for vulnerable and disadvantaged South Australians. As well as providing an important source of funding for non-government organisations, the state government also directly provides crucial basic amenities such as education, child protection and justice.

With key decisions affecting every South Australian contained in the annual State Budget, SACOSS uses the budget process to speak to government about economic priorities for the sector and vulnerable South Australians. Each year in the months preceding the State Budget, SACOSS puts forward a Budget Submission drawing from consultations with members and other sector organisations and stakeholders. Then, when the Budget detail is handed down, we produce a Snapshot analysis response to be released to members, the media, MPs and the general public.
