Food Access

Is food a struggle? Sign up for one of our community conversations

Australia is a wealthy country, but many people in our community struggle to access food that is affordable, nutritious, and suitable for their physical and cultural needs.

We want to hear from people who struggle to obtain the food they need about what governments can do to help everyone access food is healthy, appropriate, and affordable.

If you struggle to pay for food, if you sometimes rely on food charities, or if you have other difficulties when it comes to accessing the food you need, we want to hear from you.

SACOSS and DemocracyCo are hosting a series of community conversations in April, May, and June, and want to invite people who have experienced food insecurity to share their experiences with us, and their ideas for what would make it easier for them to access the food they need.

Register for one of our online sessions, or contact Pas Forgione at pas@sacoss.org.au or on 0402 681 352 to join one of our face-to-face sessions.

Participants will receive a $40 gift card for being part of a conversation, and transport assistance is available for those who need it.
