SACOSS CEO Ross Womersley said:

"This is a time of incredible change. Many of those changes have the potential to improve our lives; others have the potential to impinge on our lives. We’re living in a time when there needs to be some big, systemic changes to make sure that we maximise the potential for good, and minimise the potential for harm.

“In the next ten years, our sector will continue to be challenged to change and transition in a number of critical areas. Our workforce is increasingly being required to be flexible, meet the challenges of regional areas (with or without a workforce) and to not only offer longevity of employment but build into the capacity of those who are part of our teams.

"We are also being challenged to participate and innovate within an increasingly digital world. While our engagement with technology is a huge part of how we will move ahead as a sector, that progress brings challenges: how do we stay safe online? How do we include those who are digitally excluded? How do we continue to promote justice, opportunity and shared wealth when we live in an increasingly disparate society?"
