Position Vacant: Communications Coordinator

  • $77-88k pro rata per annum
  • 15-20 hours per week - 12 month contract

Passionate, creative and love communications?  Want to help us lead community change and make a difference in people’s lives?

The South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) is advocating, collaborating, leading and mobilising to promote wellbeing and to eliminate poverty, inequality and injustice in SA. We now need someone terrific to help us out and lead our communications function for at least 12 months.

You’ll be helping us to lead public debate on social policy issues, advocate for change, support the community services and health sectors, and enhance all our communication processes: be it directed to our members and potential members; to politicians and decision makers; to the media and/or the community more generally.

You’ll definitely have a background in journalism, communications and/or marketing, experience in creating digital content for social media, and in turning policy ideas into long-term communications campaigns.

You’ll have good publications management and editorial experience for print and online publications, with demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills.

You’ll be working part time but you will have the help and support of our Radio and Communications Officer and the whole SACOSS team.  

The position is offered as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, although the possibility of extension may arise.
