A New Age for Older Workers - Whyalla

What are the challenges of working longer? How do we create age-friendly workplaces?

The South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) and Council on the Ageing (COTA) are hosting this important community event.

Professor Barbara Pocock, Emeritus Professor at the University of SA and former director of the Centre for Work/Life, will talk about her research in this area and help uncover strategies to help both workers and their employers plan for the future.

Gillian McGinty, CEO of Boandik Lodge in Mount Gambier, will share her organisation’s initiatives to embrace older workers, as well as the benefits this has brought.

Over lunch there will be the opportunity to choose between two workshops. Managers and HR folk can look at policies and practices to support positive ageing, and workers can look at areas to help plan for the future.

When: Wed July 27, 11 am – 2 pm
Where: Field Street Hall, Cnr Field Street and Beerworth Avenue, Whyalla Playford SA
RSVPs: are essential to sacoss@sacoss.org.au

Lunch will be provided
