Got the talent and a passion to help us to shape policy and advocacy for the community sector in South Australia? If so, maybe you are the new Policy Officer we are looking for?

Working with the South Australian Council of Social Service - SA’s peak body for the not for profit community services and health sectors – you’ll have a significant role in a project around hardship and affordability. The funding for this project comes from the South Australian Department for Manufacturing, Trade, Innovation, Resources and Energy.

The project aims to ensure consumer protections and affordability for all vulnerable energy consumers and this position’s specific focus will be policy development and advocacy on these issues.

SACOSS has a long-standing vision of Justice, Opportunity and Shared Wealth for All South Australians and has a continuing ambition to ensure South Australia has a strong, cohesive community services and health sectors that drives social change.

We know that financial hardship and affordability are relevant to all Australians, and we have particular interest in the ramifications for the poorest in our South Australian community. It’s an exciting project and an opportunity to jump on at a critical stage of campaign development.

You’ll probably have a background in social policy, be keen on advocacy, have excellent written and communication skills and have a real passion for social change.
