Why join SACOSS?

SACOSS has a strong membership base of organisations and individuals from a broad range of interests in the community and social service sector. Our members display an impressive commitment to social justice in South Australia, manifested in our 40‑strong Policy Council and a range of sub‑groups that tackle specific issues. These groups actively debate and take action on issues of importance to the sector and strive for better public policy.

Make sure you check out our 2011-2016 Strategic Plan!

We welcome and encourage member participation in a variety of activities that help enhance the voice of SACOSS as a strong, resolute and independent organisation.

Opportunities as a member include:

  • Being eligible to stand for election to the Policy Council, the driving force behind SACOSS policy and advocacy work
  • The chance to contribute to State Government submissions
  • The opportunity to work on collaborative policy campaigning
  • Being able to participate in sector forums and policy and advocacy working groups
  • Special member rates for training and research
  • Special member rates for use of the Marjorie Black Community Rooms

SACOSS is committed to supporting its members by offering practical assistance with internal development processes like strategic planning, governance skills, and policy and procedure development. We specialise in tailoring our support to our members’ needs and budgets, providing effective solutions based on our commitment to social justice, best practice and a strong, sustainable community and social service sector.
