The biennial SACOSS conference is one of the largest gatherings of social service practitioners, policy makers, consumers, program providers, non-profit organisations and non-government community service providers of its kind. Our conferences are renowned for their lively discussions on cutting-edge topics, in addition to creating an environment in which delegates can engage in policy development and network with colleagues to share ideas and experiences.

This year’s conference, Defining Strength | Delivering Innovation, will encourage discussion and debate around two key questions facing our sector: What is genuinely innovative? and How do we define our strength?

As the peak body for the health and community services sector in South Australia, SACOSS wants to ensure that we as a sector remain strong and up-to-date and innovative services to meet the needs of vulnerable community members.

The conference draws diverse individuals, managers and community leaders from organisations providing services and support in areas including:

  • Aboriginal Communities
  • Advocacy
  • Aged and Community Care
  • Community Services & Development
  • Corporate Services
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities
  • Disability Services
  • Drug and Alcohol Services
  • Employment & Training
  • Family, Children & Youth
  • Health
  • Housing
  • Law & Justice

Delegates are drawn from the community sector, government agencies, academia, and public policy arenas.

I encourage you to join us in our celebration and help ensure South Australia continues to develop as an inclusive, just and equitable society.
