The South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) is the peak body representing community services in SA. As part of our ongoing remit to tackle poverty, social exclusion, economic disadvantage, deprivation and inequality, our 2008 conference aims to examine emerging issues and trends in policy and programs that may influence or inhibit a truly inclusive South Australian community.

SACOSS conferences provide for the largest gathering of social service practitioners and policy-makers of their kind in South Australia, consistently attracting around 200 participants from across the state and the country.

Destination Inclusion: SACOSS Stronger Communities Conference 2008 provides a key opportunity to examine the myriad ways of travelling toward the destination of an inclusive society - are we full steam ahead or just treading water? What is our timetable? Is the inclusion/exclusion debate a distraction from taking action? Are people any better off since the introduction of the trendy concept of “inclusion”?
